About
The Hospitalized Child Project was created for many reasons. An aspiring child-life specialist at The University Of Georgia was challenged with the creation of a project that was related to her overall goals. One of the largest aspirations that came to mind was hospitalized children. As research has shown, hospitalization at any age can have dramatic affects on patient but also the patients family, peers, supporters, and many more. The goal of the hospitalized child project is to give advice and support to families, caregivers, and supporters of children undergoing hospitalization. During hospitalization, stress and anxiety and many other emotions are present and it can be difficult to find hope, comfort, and support, but with the immense growth of technology, you can now receive support through this website and the free resources included. We also offer an option to join a virtual support group for parents and caregivers so that they can connect with others and share encouragement and experiences. Whether you are visiting this website for fun or you are currently/ previously experiencing a hospitalization, there are many resources that are all for the benefit of you and the hope is that you will enjoy everything the hospitalized child project has to offer.
